Gonstead System Based Approach

The Gonstead System is a specific and biomechanically based approach to patient care. The system was created by Dr. Gonstead through his fifty-five years of continuous practice and over four million chiropractic adjustments. This diligent effort resulted in the most complete method of biomechanical analysis available for use by today's doctors of chiropractic.

At Eddy Family Chiropractic, we know the Gonstead System equips us with the best method available to find and correct all of your chiropractic problems.

chiropratic spinal x-ray test results

This is the process of physical examination to look for subtle changes in posture or movement that could indicate potential problems.

The instrument of choice in the Gonstead System is the nervoscope. The nervoscope detects subtle changes in heat along the patient's spine that can be indicative of inflammation and nerve pressure.

Static Palpation

This is the process of feeling (palpating) the spine in a stationary position. The chiropractor will feel for the presence of swelling, tenderness, and any other abnormality that may be present in muscles or other tissues of patient's back.

Motion Palpation

This process involves feeling (palpating) the spine while moving & bending at various angles. This allows the chiropractor to determine how easily or difficult each segment of the patient's spine moves in different directions.

X-Ray Analysis

X-Rays enable the chiropractor to visualize the entire structure of the patient's spine. This is helpful in evaluating posture, joint and disc integrity, vertebral misalignments and ruling out any pathologies or recent fractures.
